Our St Helena Vineyards & Winery

ST HELENA APPELLATION & OUR VINEYARDS
Set along the sloping western benchlands of St. Helena at the base of the Mayacamas Range, Sabina Vineyards is rooted in just over 3 acres of estate vineyards dedicated primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon. Though small in scale, the site possesses many of the defining characteristics that have made this narrow stretch of Napa Valley one of the region’s most respected areas for growing Bordeaux varietals.
The vineyard’s hillside terrain is planted in rocky, red volcanic soils rich in iron and mineral content, providing excellent drainage and naturally limiting vine vigor. These conditions encourage the vines to struggle just enough to produce smaller berries with concentrated flavor, structure, and depth. The western foothill location also benefits from cooling marine influence moving inland from the Pacific Ocean and nearby bays, creating dramatic day-to-night temperature swings that allow the fruit to ripen slowly while preserving freshness and balance.
Surrounded by some of Napa Valley’s most celebrated hillside vineyards, the Sabina estate shares a landscape known for producing wines with both power and restraint — structured yet refined, expressive in their youth while capable of aging beautifully over time. Farming is done with a hands-on, thoughtful approach, with careful attention paid to vine balance, soil health, and preserving the natural character of the site.
What makes the vineyard especially unique is its intimacy. With the vines surrounding both the family home and winery, every part of the property remains deeply connected to the rhythm of the growing season. From pruning and harvest to fermentation and aging, the entire winemaking process unfolds within a few hundred feet of where the grapes are grown, allowing for an uncommon level of care and attention from vineyard to bottle.

OUR WINERY
Built into the lower level of our family home, the winery at Sabina Vineyards was designed to feel intimate, purposeful, and deeply connected to the winemaking process itself. Rather than a large-scale production facility, the space reflects the spirit of a small European-style winery — where every detail is hands-on and every vintage receives personal attention. The winery was intentionally built as the foundation of the home, allowing winemaking and family life to exist side by side.
Inside the winery, French oak barrels line the cellar, a small laboratory allows for careful monitoring throughout fermentation and aging, and the tasting space offers guests a quiet, personal setting surrounded by the wines as they evolve. During harvest, native yeast naturally present throughout the vineyard and winery environment can contribute to fermentation, helping create wines that reflect the character of the estate and each individual vintage.
What makes Sabina especially unique is not only the scale of the winery, but the feeling of being welcomed into a lived-in family estate rather than a traditional commercial tasting room. With the vineyards surrounding the property and the winery resting directly beneath the home, every part of the experience feels connected — intimate, authentic, and unmistakably personal.
